And a word from/to our sponsors…..

I’ve been running group tours and trips for over twenty years now – land based educationally based, ecotours, Relo fam trips, dive trips, canoe trips – you name it.  One thing that made The Dive Into America film shoot different from anything I’ve done previously was that we have sponsors.  Yes, they do get mentioned on the show and yes, their names are on the van and will remain so for the next year (and longer if the additional episodes are picked up).  But aside from the obvious commercial relationship, I just wanted to formally thank each and every sponsor for their support and friendship.

Dive Rite, for equipping every crew member with required safety equipment and their excellent regulators.  I’ll have to say, given over 40 years of diving, that the Dive Rite gear that I have and continue to use has been the best for me.  I’m still using my original Transplate, now almost 10 years old and my second set of regs, starting with a set of 2500s and currently using the 3100 first and second reg on an 84″ hose.  It’s my opinion that when someone is ready to move on from the purely recreational, reef touring kind of diving, Dive Rite gear is where to start and continue with.

Intova/Tovatech for the phenomenal MegaNova lights that are officially now my all around video/hand held light.  The Megas feature 2000 lumens  channeled through a 3 LED array and packed in a seemingly bullet-proof aluminum case.  2 hr burn time at the full power setting and 16  hrs when cut back to the 30% setting.  (The 30% setting is still brighter than some of the big name pistol grips out there.)  This light, either hand held or mounted on a housing is the Bomb!

TovaTech MegaNova light - THE BOMB!

A special thanks to Heidi and Larry Rose of the Monroe, NC branch of Signs Now!   Not only did they generously provide the graphics and lettering for the van, but put up endlessly with changes, additions and edits.  No matter where you are, it would be well worth your while to contact Heidi and Larry about your signage needs!

    • Hi Ceola,

Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully you found and will find some information that will aid you in your dive career. The important thing is that you’re looking. I’ve been diving for a long time, since I was 10 and still feel like a newbie and have alot to learn yet. I am going to be starting a new post this week as a “Tips Corner” that I will be adding to each week. Topics such as what mask considerations are important, what snorkel to use, why use a regulator necklace and which regulator to donate during an out of air situations with another diver, etc. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think of the posts.

      Thanks again!
